Our visit to Musgrove Willows

Musgrove Willows

In October of last year, my Dad fell ill with Pancreatic Cancer and it was a short illness before he was taken from us in December 2019. My Dad lived in Spain for 13 years, but we're so glad he came home to us in November. My Dad has always supported my dreams and encouraged me in every way possible, he is the reason I have a passion for animals and all things outdoors. Growing up we had a pet shop so it seemed only right my life be surrounded by animals from Tarantula's to Sheep. He even made me do a Willow Giraffe...life size.

For years my Dad had been telling me to get into making Willow Coffins and I'd repeatedly said no, but it only seemed right that he would have one. We contacted Musgrove Willows who is my supplier of Willow for all my work, as we knew they made them. It was then we were informed we could go and help to make it- it was impossible to say no. So, on January 3rd, me and my two girls, Olivia and Georgia, traveled down to Somerset and helped to make Dad's coffin. It was of course a difficult day, but it was for Dad. It was also quite humbling to be able to do it for him, he would've liked that personal touch. The day was made so much easier by having such an excellent and talented tutor, Sarhan. We also had a look round the farm, which was really interesting- we'd like to go again under better circumstances.
